All Inuvet products are green, green, green

How sustainable are Inuvet products? Let's take a look inside, around and behind the green paws.

Around: our green packaging

Over the past few years, our product packaging has undergone continuous improvement. The plastic containers of the past are now history and replaced by new, regionally produced paper containers. They are made from 85% recycled paper and have a wafer-thin layer of aluminum to keep the contents fresh. Once separated from the lids, they can even be thrown away with the paper recycling!

The liquid products (like O-Max for example) are available in glass bottles – bye-bye, plastic!

Inside: sustainable innovation

Sustainability isn't just about the outside – the inside counts too! That's why our products are extremely economical.

…a packet of Hepax powder for an allergic cat weighing 4 kg lasts for around 65 days if given continuously.

…100 milliliters of O-Max algae oil will last between 50 and 60 days for a 15 kg dog, depending on the amount of omega-3 needed.

...a 3 kg bag of Hypolene pellets for a 500 kg horse lasts at least 60 days (when given continuously) – this is true for all our pellets for large animals!

The various container sizes ensure that we minimize waste. Smaller animals get smaller containers.

Environmental protection: 60 – ocean pollution: 1

Take O-Max for example. Since omega-3 fatty acids are essential, we knew that they had to make them available in veterinarian practices. At the same time, we knew that we shouldn't be dependent on fish oil. Instead, we had the option to choose environmentally friendly algae oil.

That’s why algae oil is the main component of O-Max. In the production of omega-3, one ton of algae oil replaces 60 tons of fish. In addition, the algae Schizochytrium sp. is cultivated in special containers, which means that the marine ecosystem remains undisturbed. In contrast to how fish oil is produced, the production of the algae ensures that it is not exposed to any harmful substances.

Of course it has a long shelf life!

Products with a long shelf life are less likely to be thrown away. That's why all our products have a shelf life of at least 1 year – and most have a shelf life of 18 months or longer. This ensures that even in the event of occasional complaints, there is no need to be constantly buying new products.

Behind: sustainable thinking

"The info material for the veterinary practice is compact and well thought-out. Usually, it’s just a funny, expressive graphic on the front and a description of the product with ingredients and other details on the back. Our sales team can leave material that is helpful in the daily practice of a clinic. No papers flying around unnecessarily!” *– Michael Hoppe, Graphic Design and Marketing at Inuvet

"Of course, our packaging material is made entirely of paper – we don't use plastic!" *– Othmane Nehri, Warehouse team

Why are we doing all of this?

We perceive the "green practice" as a logical consequence of our mission: To keep animals naturally healthy, it is essential that we also protect the environment – the habitat of all animals. Join us in our Green Practice mission!
